XDI2 and xdi.js are free software / open source.

We believe this choice of licenses supports a collaborative community and adoption in an optimal way.

Note that in the past, XDI2 used to be available under the permissive MIT license. There is a special branch called permissive-license. This branch is not dedicated to any single specific feature, but to advancing a version of XDI2 that is available under the permissive MIT license.
